Vision Statement

We believe that the most promising strategy for achieving the mission of George C. Marshall High School is to develop our collective capacity to function as a caring Professional Learning Community whose member’s value and celebrate our rich diversity. As an instructional staff of teachers, counselors, administrators, and specialists we envision our school as one in which we demonstrate a school-wide commitment to helping all students achieve high levels of learning.

  • George C. Marshall High School serves a cosmopolitan area of Fairfax County located near Tyson’s Corner, twelve miles west of Washington, D.C. Students that attend Marshall are a reflection of the great ethnic diversity in Northern Virginia. George C. Marshall High School prides itself on its strong academic programs. Over 100 faculty members offer a comprehensive curriculum that stresses academic courses as well as studies in fine arts and technical fields. Since 1997, Marshall has offered both the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and individual courses for IB Certificates. Over this period, our diploma achievement rate has been 94%. Marshall's comparatively modest size allows numerous opportunities for students to participate and develop leadership skills in a comprehensive extracurricular program. The Marshall Academy provides extensive science, business, and marketing and technology classes to juniors and seniors. Our Lunch and Learn program provides student’s time during the school day to access their teachers for academic assistance.


School Summary

George C. Marshall High School prepares students to be successful citizens of the global community. We provide an intellectually challenging curriculum for all our students. We model and teach the ethical values of respect, responsibility, honesty, spirit, and community as exemplified in the Statesmen code. We communicate by exchanging information, ideas, and viewpoints among students, teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, and other members of the community to improve student achievement and build public support. This strong partnership among the members of the Marshall community helps our students realize their educational, personal and career goals.
