Principal’s Message

The goal at Hancock Middle-Senior High is to inspire, empower, and prepare every student, every day for college and career readiness.  We must focus on what skills our students need to be successful in school, on tests for college and careers, as well as the rapidly changing job market.  We believe authentic literacy is the common skill that binds all of these together as our students will be reading, writing, speaking, and reasoning every day in all of their classes.  We believe these are skills that are necessary for every student to acquire in order to be successful in their future endeavors.

We continue to emphasize and see high participation rates in athletics and after-school activities. I strongly encourage parents to consider getting their son/daughter involved in at least one of these activities. Whether it’s a club, team, music group, or service organization, participation in one of these extra-curriculars significantly strengthens school connections, often improves self-esteem, and fosters character building and life skills that bring success, both now and in the future.

I know I speak for the entire Hancock Middle-Senior High staff in stating what a privilege it is to work with the parents and children in this community. Successful schools have positive community partnerships and we believe in working closely with our families and our greater community. We want our students to attend Hancock daily and showcase their Panther Pride. The collective impact of our families and community is critical to our success. The relationships created with caring adults, in school and in the community, ensure the varied need of our students are being met. And, they give students a bright future.
