Mission

As a learning community, we believe in the power of the Arts to provide quality learning experiences in which creativity, process, academics and diversity connect to foster student achievement.

Fountaindale Elementary was built in 1949, replacing a one room school which stood on the circle in front of the main entrance of the current Fountaindale Elementary building. The first principal was Miss Margaret White. By 1954 Fountaindale was so crowded that a second unit of classrooms was added to the original 7. Later, a gym, three more classrooms and a connecting hallway were added to complete the circle that the school now makes. A library was added in 1968. Fountaindale now educates a population of 400+ students, K through grade 5. We are the most ethnically diverse elementary school in Washington County. In 2003 Fountaindale became Fountaindale School for Arts and Academics Excellence. Students may begin band and orchestra in 4th grade. The arts are infused throughout the curriculum. Fountaindale also offers accelerated magnet classrooms for grades 2-5.

The overall purpose of the PTA is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

About the PTA

PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association and it is a national organization that advocates for our children’s education and communities.  The PTA is organized at the national, State, county, and local levels.

The PTA is a forum where parents, teachers, administrators, and other concerned adults discuss ways to promote quality education, strive to expand the arts, encourage community involvement, and work for a healthy environment and safe neighborhoods.

Our Mission

  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship.
  • To raise the standards of home life.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  • To bring into closer relation the home and school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.
