About Bayside Elementary School

Bayside Elementary School is located on Kent Island in Queen Anne's County. We are located near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, the gateway to Maryland's beautiful Eastern Shore. The school building was opened in September of 1991 as a second building to Kent Island Elementary School; it housed 2nd through 4th grades. Since then, it has accommodated many grade-level configurations that have changed with the needs of our community and the school system.
In the 2011-2012 school year, Bayside Elementary School became a campus school with Kent Island Elementary School. The campus school   consists of grades Pre-K to 5. The Bayside building houses grades 3-5 and the Kent Island building houses grades PreK-2.
While no longer a Campus school, Bayside is now home to approximately 500 students. For the 2019-2020 school year, we have twenty-one classrooms (seven 3rd grade, six 4th grade, and seven 5th grade) as well as our Regional Communication Program which specializes in meeting the needs of students with severe challenges in communication. We are an inclusive school that offers students instruction in the core subject areas of Reading/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies as well as Music, Art, Physical Education, and Media.
About Bayside PTA:
The PTA at our school works to promote the welfare of our children in the home, the school, and the community. It is a combined effort of all parents, teachers and administrators. Membership is open to all parents, staff, and any adults who are interested in the objectives of the PTA Association.
